Meet your longevity experts:

Examining your pension plan’s longevity risk and the range of strategies to reduce it

For pension custodians these are perilous times. An aging population combined with volatile markets and reduced bond market confidence means that UK pension fund deficits are increasing by 2 billion pounds every day, according to Towers Watson. The problem is not just a UK one however; European pension funds are also suffering as a result of the Euro Zone Crisis. Never before has pension fund de-risking been so important and crucial to the long term security of both pension schemes and their scheme members.

While much work has been done on quantifying inflation and interest risk – only a few pension schemes have implemented solutions to manage the cost of its members living longer that expected. Opinion is still divided as to what are the most effective strategies and we are now seeing an increasing number of new products offering longevity solutions.

The European De-Risking Longevity Forum has been designed to bring together the experts in this market from early adopters of the new longevity solutions to naysayers and those that challenge assumption of an ever increasing life expectancy.

This year’s event will give you an independent overview of the options available and the potential consequences for your fund and will allow you to move towards a longevity risk solution that works and offers the most value for your fund.
